The Israeli army spokeswoman published, in a post on the “X” platform, the details of an operational forum held today, Monday, under the leadership of Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, at a time when the latter described the current stage as a “strategic crossroads,” stressing the readiness to quickly return to intense fighting despite the ongoing political negotiation paths in a number of arenas.
According to the publication, members of the Supreme Command Authority and operational commanders in the Israeli army at the rank of lieutenant colonel and above participated in the forum, where a multi-area operational and intelligence briefing was provided, and a dialogue was held between the commanders regarding the continuation of the battle.
The leaders also presented case studies and briefings that addressed developments in combat and lessons learned from operational activity in various regions.
During the forum, Zamir hosted the Commander of the US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, who reviewed what he described as the deep and strategic partnership between the Israeli and American armies, considering that it had proven its effectiveness repeatedly during the battle.
Cooper stressed that the partnership between the two armies is “historic,” and is based on trust, commitment, and strong and solid cooperation, and, according to him, constitutes an important element in enhancing security and stability in the region.
For his part, Zamir thanked Cooper for the close cooperation and presented him with a souvenir in appreciation of the partnership between the two armies, stressing that cooperation with the US Army is “unprecedented and constitutes a strategic pillar.”
Zamir said: “We are going through an important period and stand at a strategic crossroads,” adding that the Israeli army is waging a “large, continuous, multi-arena battle,” and that its mission is to influence reality and not be dragged behind it through tactical and methodological initiative.
He pointed out that political negotiations are currently taking place in all major arenas, considering that they came as a result of what he described as the “historic achievements” achieved by the army, and stressing the need to invest in and maximize these achievements.
Zamir stressed that the army is well prepared for defense, in parallel with immediate readiness and readiness to return to intense fighting, noting that it is implementing a systematic and organized plan of action to achieve victory.
He added that since October 7, the army has proven itself, in his words, “as a victorious army with a spirit of strength,” describing it as an offensive army that takes the initiative.
Zamir addressed the commanders and forces on land, sea, and air, in addition to the intelligence, communications, computing, logistics, and administration personnel, considering that the achievements in various arenas are due to them, and that they contributed to changing the security reality.
He pointed out that the various army units are going through a transitional phase, stressing readiness to confront all challenges and maintain the cohesion and unity of the ranks in the face of threats, describing the phase as “a crucial security period for the state.”
He stressed that, despite the desire to give the forces space to regain their activity and catch their breath, vigilance cannot be lost, calling for maintaining high readiness and being prepared to quickly return to intense fighting, respond to any development, and continue protecting citizens.
Zamir concluded by stressing that the current challenge is not limited to preserving achievements, but rather includes continuing to shape reality, build strength, and ensure the army’s readiness to deal with any scenario.
