Iran continued to intensify its attacks against Bahrain, targeting civilian air navigation devices affiliated with the Bahrain FIR with drones.

Civil Aviation Affairs announced that the “sinful Iranian aggression” that targeted civilian air navigation equipment did not affect the conduct of air navigation operations.

It confirmed that the competent authorities immediately began dealing with the accident in accordance with the approved operational and security procedures, and took the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of navigation services and the safety of air traffic.

She explained that flights and transit air traffic through the Bahrain Aviation Information Region are operating normally, with continued follow-up and coordination with international organizations and concerned authorities.

For its part, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the repeated “sinful Iranian attacks” that targeted civilian and vital installations in the Kingdom with missiles and drones, considering that they constitute a blatant violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty, security and stability.

Bahrain considered the attack a direct threat to the lives of safe civilians, and a grave violation of the rules of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter, in addition to the principles of good neighborliness and international legitimacy resolutions, most notably UN Security Council Resolution No. 2817.

The Ministry strongly condemned Iran’s targeting of civilian air navigation devices belonging to the Bahrain Flight Information Region Administration with drones, considering that this represents a serious threat to the safety of international civil aviation and the lives of passengers and crews, and a clear violation of the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation and the decisions of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in addition to being a serious violation of international norms and conventions that prohibit targeting civilian facilities.

In the same context, the leadership of the Bahrain Defense Force announced that Iran is continuing what it described as its “systematic hostile approach” through its attacks targeting civilians in the Kingdom.

The command explained that it confronted and destroyed a number of “treacherous Iranian air attacks,” today, Monday, July 20, 2026, stressing that its weapons and units are at the highest levels of readiness to protect the Kingdom.
