The YouTube platform announced important updates to the standards of its partner program aimed at banning and excluding channels that rely on superficial and low-quality content, in a step aimed at limiting the spread of unoriginal videos and confronting the phenomenon of content farms.

This decision does not come as a completely new policy, but rather as a re-clarification and review of the standards that exclude duplicate or machine-generated content that lacks added value. The new policies included excluding duplicate and recycled content through ready-made templates without creative addition, and annoying or shocking content that exploits randomness to increase views, in addition to prohibiting the use of characters and faces generated by artificial intelligence to provide consultations and advice in sensitive areas such as money, health, and law to prevent misleading the public.

In the same context, the platform’s management confirmed that employing artificial intelligence techniques remains permissible and eligible for profit as long as it is used to produce original materials that bear a real human imprint and provide actual benefit to viewers.
