This comes as the UAE Ministry of Defense announced that the national tankers “Mombasa” and “Al Bahia” were targeted by two Iranian cruise missiles in the southern corridor of the Strait of Hormuz within Omani territorial waters.
The ministry said: “The attack resulted in the death of an Indian crew member from the Mombasa, and the injury of 8 others, including 4 serious injuries.” She explained that “the injured are 6 Indians and two Ukrainians.”
She added: “A fire broke out in the two tankers and caused material damage, before it was brought under control,” stressing that “the UAE reserves its full right to respond and take the necessary measures to protect its security, sovereignty, and national interests.”
Today, the US Army announced that it had “completed a new wave of strikes on Iran for the third night in a row.”
He said: “These strikes came in order to weaken Iran’s ability to target ships in Hormuz.”
