Representative Ashraf Rifi considered that attacking the sovereignty and security of Arab countries, under any pretext, is a condemnable and rejected aggression, stressing that it cannot be justified by claiming to target foreign military bases, at a time when missiles are hitting civilians and threatening the security and stability of countries.
Rifi said, in a post on the “X” platform, “What is most strange and condemnable is the extension of these attacks to Arab countries, most notably the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman, which stood by political solutions and made remarkable efforts to mediate between Iran and the United States.”
He asked: “How can countries seeking calm be rewarded by becoming targets of Iranian fire?”
Rifi believed that Iran seemed more impulsive in expanding the bombing circle towards a number of Arab countries, while its response to Israel, in his words, remained more limited, considering that this raises serious questions about the nature of the decision within the Iranian leadership.
He added: “Are we facing confusion in managing the crisis, or facing a division within the decision-making centres?”, stressing that, in both cases, this does not justify endangering the security and sovereignty of the Arab countries.
Rifi stressed that respecting the sovereignty of Arab countries “is not an option, but rather a duty imposed by the rules of international law,” considering that any attack on them, whatever the pretexts, is “an unacceptable aggression that requires a unified and firm Arab position.”
