Samsung is preparing to unveil a group of its most prominent new devices during its upcoming annual event in the second half of 2026, which is expected to witness the announcement of the new generation of foldable phones, along with updates to the smart watch series, and perhaps an initial review of the extended reality glasses that it is developing in cooperation with Google.

According to unconfirmed leaks, the event may be held next July 22 in the British capital, London, but the final date has not been decided yet. According to the Ingadget website, the event, even if its date changes, will focus primarily on foldable devices.

Leaks indicate that Samsung may reveal two different designs for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, one of which comes with a wider body than the current version, approaching the shape of a small tablet when opened, with an internal screen measuring 7.8 inches, and another external screen measuring 5.4 inches, in addition to a wider external screen that gives a user experience closer to traditional phones when the device is closed.

Also, information indicates that this version may dispense with the triple rear camera system in favor of only two cameras, compared to the current generation.

On the other hand, Samsung may offer another version called Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, as the highest version in the series, with improvements that include reducing the clarity of the screen fold, adopting a new Snapdragon processor, and a 200-megapixel main camera, in addition to support for 45-watt fast charging.

Some expectations link the renaming of the versions to potential competition with Apple’s foldable phones, as well as the possibility of raising the prices of the new devices, as the price of some copies may reach about $2,000.

As for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, it is expected to come with a new hinge that reduces the appearance of the screen fold and makes the phone lighter, with the return of using Snapdragon processors instead of Exynos.

Despite these modifications, the leaks indicate that the basic specifications may remain without major changes, including the internal screen measuring 6.9 inches and the external screen measuring 4.1 inches, which may make the updates limited compared to the previous version.

Samsung is also expected to reveal new updates to its smart watches, as the Galaxy Watch 9 is expected to receive gradual improvements that include design, new colors, and updated straps, in addition to the Snapdragon Wear Elite processor and additional health features.

Also, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 may come with minor design modifications and thinner edges, while leaks indicate that the “Classic” version may not be launched during this year.

Among the most anticipated products during the event are the Android XR smart glasses developed by Samsung in cooperation with Google, after they were initially reviewed during the Google I/O 2026 conference.

Expectations indicate that the first version will rely on voice commands only, with the integration of the Gemini Assistant and cameras that support contextual artificial intelligence, and that a version with an integrated screen will be launched during the year 2027.

Although the commercial launch of the glasses is still far away, the upcoming event may witness the disclosure of more details regarding their price and the expected date of their availability in the markets.
