Under the agreement, Google will pay about $920 million per month in exchange for access to a computer infrastructure that includes approximately 110,000 graphics processing units from Nvidia, which are among the most important components used in training and operating advanced artificial intelligence models.
Google is scheduled to begin paying the full value of the contract starting in October 2026, after a transitional period during which reduced fees will apply.
The deal comes at a time when SpaceX is preparing to offer its shares for public subscription this June, giving the company a major financial boost before entering the financial markets.
A Google Cloud spokesman said that the agreement aims to provide additional computing power on a temporary basis to meet the growing demand for the company’s artificial intelligence services, most notably the Gemini Enterprise platform.
