The Royal Club had officially announced the departure of its captain, Dani Carvajal, from the team, after the decision not to renew his contract.
According to the British newspaper “The Athletic”, Carvajal held a farewell dinner for the first team players, without inviting Arbeloa, in a move that reflected the extent of the tension between the player and his temporary coach this season.
Carvajal leaves Real Madrid after a long career that spanned 23 years, during which he won 27 titles with the club.
The end of the historic leader was not as he had hoped, after he sat on the bench for a number of matches in favor of Englishman Trent Alexander-Arnold.
His lack of participation also affected his international fortunes, as Luis de la Fuente did not call him up to the Spain national team.
Although Arbeloa confirmed that Carvajal’s exclusion was for tactical reasons, his absence from the farewell dinner seemed a clear indication that the relationship between the two parties had reached a dead end.
