Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi confirmed that his country “will not submit to any pressure or threats,” stressing that issues related to Iran “cannot be resolved militarily.”

During his participation in the BRICS meeting, Araqchi said that “military solutions will not succeed in dealing with any issue related to Iran,” stressing that “the Iranian people will never submit to pressure or threats.”

He added: “Iran is ready to fight with all its might in defense of its freedom and territory, and at the same time it continues to support and adhere to the diplomatic path.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister indicated that the Iranian armed forces are “ready to direct a devastating and overwhelming response” if the country is exposed to any attack, stressing in return that “the Iranian people seek peace and do not desire war.”

Regarding navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, Araqchi stressed that the strait “remains open to all commercial ships,” without any obstacles or restrictions, provided that there is coordination with the Iranian Navy.

He explained that cooperation with the Iranian naval forces is a “routine measure to ensure the security and safety of transit” in this strategic corridor, denying any intention to restrict the movement of international shipping through the strait, which is an essential artery for global energy supplies.

He added that the Strait of Hormuz “is negatively affected by the American aggression and illegal blockade imposed on Iran,” expressing his hope that this situation will end soon by lifting the unilateral sanctions, which he described as “contrary to international law and do not serve the stability of the region.”

It is noteworthy that, before the American-Israeli attack on Iran, the Strait of Hormuz was witnessing heavy shipping traffic transporting about a fifth of the world’s oil supplies daily.
