The Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, confirmed that the Iranian Armed Forces are “ready to provide a disciplinary response to any aggression,” stressing that Tehran is “ready for all options,” in a new escalation of Iranian rhetoric toward the United States.
In a post on the “X” platform, Qalibaf said that “wrong strategies and decisions always lead to wrong results,” adding that “the whole world already understood the results of these policies.”
The Iranian official concluded his post with a remarkable phrase in which he said: “They are not prepared for all options… they will be surprised.”
Ghalibaf’s statements come after American reports spoke of a meeting held by US President Donald Trump with his national security team to discuss the next steps in the war with Iran, including the possibility of resuming military action after the faltering of the recent negotiations.
The Axios website revealed that the US administration is considering several options, including carrying out military strikes against Iranian targets, reviving the maritime “Freedom Project” in the Strait of Hormuz, in addition to moving to control Iranian enriched uranium.
The Iranian escalation also comes after Trump officially rejected the latest Iranian response to the American proposal, in a move that raised the level of tension between Washington and Tehran, amid international fears that the situation could slide into a broader military confrontation in the region.
The Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz are witnessing an unprecedented state of alert, coinciding with Western naval and military movements, while Iran continues to assert that it will not retreat under pressure or military threat.
