The Turkish authorities announced that Aydın Cavusoglu, the brother of former Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, was found injured by a gunshot inside his office in the city of Alanya in the state of Antalya in southern Turkey.

Turkish media reported that the incident occurred inside the office section of a gas station owned by Cavusoglu in Alanya.

According to the information, the employees heard a single gunshot coming from the office floor, and when they entered the room, they found Aydin Cavusoglu lying on the floor.

Immediately upon receiving the report, large numbers of police and medical teams were sent to the scene.

Turkish sources confirmed that Cavusoglu was transferred to the hospital after receiving first aid at the scene, where he underwent emergency surgery, while hospital officials explained that his condition remains critical despite the end of the operation, and he is currently undergoing medical observation.

Initial security investigations indicated that the incident may have been a “suicide attempt,” after the police found the weapon next to him, while surveillance cameras did not show any stranger entering the office at the time of the incident, while investigations continue to uncover the circumstances of what happened.

The transfer of the brother of the former Turkish Foreign Minister to the hospital sparked large gatherings in Alanya, where a large number of people gathered around the hospital, while the police imposed extensive security measures in the area.
