Benjamin Netanyahu commented on preventing what is known as the “Global Resilience Fleet” from reaching the Gaza Strip and arresting a number of activists participating in it, stressing that the operation was carried out “completely successfully.”

Netanyahu said, in a blog post on the “X” platform on Thursday evening, that he had issued direct instructions to the Israeli Navy to prevent what he described as a “fleet of Hamas supporters” from reaching the shores of Gaza, adding that none of the ships were able to reach Israeli territory or territorial waters.

He added that all participants in the flotilla have been returned, and will return to their countries of origin, concluding his statement with a sarcastic comment that they “will continue to watch Gaza via YouTube.”

At dawn on Wednesday, Israeli forces stormed the fleet’s ships in international waters off the Greek island of Crete, about 1,200 kilometers from the coast of Gaza, according to reports.

Human rights and international organizations reported that the interception operation included disrupting navigation systems and destroying the engines of some ships, leaving them stranded at sea.

According to the flotilla’s organizers, about 175 activists were detained, including approximately 30 Spanish nationals and 20 Turkish citizens.

This comes as part of a series of Israeli interceptions of naval convoys heading to Gaza, as a similar flotilla was intercepted in October 2025.
