Zamalek defies crises and is approaching the league and Confederation finals

Under the leadership of Hussein Labib, the Zamalek club management made a decisive decision regarding the future of Motamed Gamal, the coach of the first team, after the distinguished performance that the team presented under his leadership in the recent period, defying the difficult circumstances it faced.

Zamalek Club has suffered from a severe financial crisis since seizing its land in 6th of October City, which negatively affected various aspects of the club, and caused a delay in the payment of players’ dues, which led some of them to unilaterally terminate their contracts, in addition to FIFA’s decision to suspend the club’s registration due to the presence of 14 cases submitted by former players and coaches demanding their overdue dues, which must be paid before the end of next month in order to obtain the African licence.

Under these difficult circumstances, no one expected the team to compete for any championship this season, but with Motamed Gamal assuming responsibility as coach Ahmed Abdel Raouf, he succeeded in raising the morale of the players and giving the psychological aspect great importance. He also relied on a group of young players, to lead the team to a strong competition for the local league title, in addition to reaching the final of the African Confederation Cup.

Journalist Muhib Abdel Hadi stated on his Facebook account that the administration is currently working to officially renew Motamed Jamal’s contract.

Zamalek has performed wonderfully under the leadership of Motamed Gamal, which was clearly reflected in its results in the Egyptian Premier League, as the team became the closest to winning the title, after strengthening its lead in the standings with 49 points.

It is noteworthy that the white team achieved an important victory over Pyramids with a score of 1-0 last Thursday, taking a big step closer to achieving the precious title.

Zamalek is preparing for a strong confrontation against Enppi next Monday, within the fourth round of the league’s coronation stage.

The team also succeeded in qualifying for the final of the African Confederation Cup, after defeating CS Belouizdad of Algeria with a clean goal in the first leg of the semi-final, then a goalless draw in the second leg, which was held in Cairo.

Zamalek is scheduled to be a guest of Algeria’s USM Algiers on May 9 in the first leg of the final round, with the return match taking place on the 16 of the same month in Cairo.
