In a notable development that heralds a new military phase in the region, Israeli security assessments revealed Tel Aviv’s readiness to resume the confrontation with Iran, awaiting a decision from US President Donald Trump, amid advanced military coordination with the United States and continuing American reinforcements in the Middle East.
According to a report by journalist Itay Blumenthal at the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, a high-ranking Israeli security source confirmed that “Israel wants to renew the fighting,” considering that Operation “Lion’s Roar” was stopped early “without exerting sufficient pressure on Iran regarding the nuclear program and ballistic missiles, and in light of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.”
The source explained that the Israeli army is carrying out field preparations in conjunction with the American army to resume the military campaign, including strengthening the American forces that continue to flow into the region, noting that coordination between the two parties is taking place “at the highest levels.” In this context, the Commander of the US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, is expected to visit Israel tomorrow.
The data indicate that any “green light” from Trump will quickly turn into practical steps, as Israel intends to target national infrastructure and energy facilities inside Iran, seeking to impose direct economic pressure on the Iranian regime to force it to retreat from its nuclear program.
On the other hand, political developments indicate a stagnation in the diplomatic track, as US Vice President Jay D. Vance announced last night that after three rounds of negotiations between the American and Iranian delegations in Pakistan, no agreement had been reached, saying: “Iran rejected our proposal, and we did not obtain an absolute guarantee that it would not seek to possess a nuclear weapon.”
