Google announced a new version of the “Google Vids” application dedicated to creating videos based on artificial intelligence. This update aims to enhance the capabilities of producing visual and audio content by integrating the latest technologies.
This update builds on Veo 3.1 video creation and Lyria 3 audio production models, allowing users to create short videos for free using text commands or images, with improved output quality. In addition, the company provides screen recording feature via Chrome browser for all users.
The update also includes improvements to AI-powered avatars, especially for subscribers of the AI Pro and Ultra plans, as these characters can be placed in various scenes and interact with multiple elements. Customization tools allow you to specify clothing, location, and mood, providing greater flexibility in content creation.
Google’s Lyria 3 model allows users to create music clips ranging in length from 30 seconds to three minutes, by simply entering a description of the desired style. The application displays the result directly below the description box, with the ability to insert it into the video or regenerate it, in addition to supporting adding captions.
The update supports uploading content directly to the YouTube platform, with the default publishing in “private” mode, with the possibility of converting it to “public” later.
This update comes in the context of Google’s strategy to integrate artificial intelligence models into its applications, as “Vids” previously obtained the automatic voice commentary feature in 2025, in addition to support for converting images to video during an update that was launched in the summer of the same year.
