Captain “Ella,” the Israeli army spokeswoman, reported in a post on the “X” platform that the Air Force, based on intelligence information and in coordination with operations, earlier on Saturday launched strikes on infrastructure located within a petrochemical complex in the city of Mahshahr, southwest of Iran.
She indicated that this complex plays a pivotal role in the production and export of chemicals to the Iranian armed forces. It stated that during the operation, a site containing one of the two main infrastructures used in the production of materials used in the manufacture of explosives, ballistic missiles and other types of weapons was targeted.
Ella also stated that the site is considered a vital center for the production of a material necessary for the manufacture of ballistic missiles, considering that the destruction of this infrastructure will undermine the regime’s ability to exploit the materials produced in the complex to manufacture various types of weapons.
She explained that these strikes fall within the framework of a phase she called “deepening the targeting” of what she described as the basic core systems of the Iranian regime and its infrastructure.
