Amid the escalation: news of expected resignations of senior officials in the administration "Trump"

The Atlantic magazine reported, based on informed sources in the White House, that there are ongoing discussions about the possible resignation of a number of officials in the administration of President Donald Trump.

According to the report, the names proposed for departure include FBI Director Kash Patel, Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-Dermer, without specifying a specific timetable, knowing that the decision has not yet been made final.

Reuters has not been able to verify the accuracy of this information at this time.

In a related context, American media reported that the Pentagon had dismissed two high-ranking generals, in addition to the head of the US Ground Forces, Randy George.

The Washington Post explained that the two dismissed generals were David Houdney, who was the commander of training and transformation in the army, and Major General William Greene, Jr.

These developments come in light of the escalation of tension in the US-led confrontation against Iran, with the continued threats made by Trump, which include targeting bridges and power plants, all the way to threatening to return Iran to the “stone age.”

Earlier, the Pentagon spokesman stated that Randy George would retire from his position immediately, based on a decision issued by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Together, these events reinforce speculation about broader changes within the military establishment, especially with increasing talk about the possibility of carrying out a US ground operation in Iran.

Some reports also indicated that Deputy Chief of Staff Christopher LaNeve would assume the duties of acting chief of staff.

CBS quoted one of its sources as saying that Hegseth is seeking to appoint a person capable of implementing Trump and the Department of Defense’s vision for the army, in light of developments related to the war.
