A statement issued by the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem:
It is no longer a secret to anyone that there is a dangerous American-Israeli project, namely Greater Israel, which is based on occupation and expansion from the Euphrates to the Nile, including Lebanon. The Israeli-American aggression against Lebanon did not stop on 11/27/2024, and the Israeli enemy did not abide by the agreement, but rather continued its aggression continuously for fifteen months.
It became clear that we were faced with two options: either surrender and give up land, dignity, sovereignty, and the future of our generations, or the inevitable confrontation and resistance to the occupation to prevent it from achieving its goals. The timing was chosen by the resistance to respond to the aggression and defend Lebanon. It missed the Israeli enemy the opportunity to surprise us, prevented it from monopolizing Lebanon, and dropped all claims of pretexts because the missile launch does not call for war. Rather, pretexts have no meaning as the aggression continues for fifteen months.
The resistance prepared the appropriate equipment and proved its effectiveness and worthiness. The young, sacrificial warriors presented the most wonderful epics of heroism, honor, patriotism and dignity. They are determined to continue without any ceiling, and are ready to sacrifice without limits. They are now the shining symbol of patriotism and the light of the coming liberation.
As for the people of the resistance, they are the most honorable and noblest on the face of the earth. They were displaced as a contribution to the jihad and endured as sacrificers and resistance fighters. They sacrificed their lives with pride and satisfaction, and suffered the greatest suffering far from their homes and normal lives in order to create a free and honorable future for their homeland and their children.
Aggression is the problem and danger, and resistance is hope and liberation.
The responsibility to confront aggression is a national responsibility for everyone, government, people, army, forces, sects, parties, and every citizen. The Israeli-American aggression wants to strip Lebanon of its power and control its policies and the future of its children. He wants to rob Lebanon of its sovereignty and independence with his demands to cause strife and internal fighting, legitimize the Israeli occupation, and prevent the army from arming and defending the homeland.. The response is a national responsibility.
When arms exclusivity is proposed in response to Israel’s demand while the occupation and aggression continue, it is a step on the path to the demise of Lebanon and the realization of the dream of Greater Israel. When negotiation with the Israeli enemy is proposed under fire, it is an imposition of surrender and a robbing of all of Lebanon’s capabilities. Moreover, negotiation is rejected in the first place with an enemy that occupies the land and attacks daily.
There is no war for others on the land of Lebanon, but rather a war between Israel and America against Lebanon, in exchange for the defense of the resistance, the people, the army, the honorable people, the patriots, and the forces that believe in the independence and liberation of Lebanon.
We are in a battle defending Lebanon and its citizens, and those who are martyred are the chosen men, youth, women and children of our homeland, and what we are liberating is the land of our homeland, Lebanon.
We call for national unity against the Israeli-American enemy, under one title at this stage: stopping the aggression to liberate the land and people. All other titles are subject to discussion afterwards.
National unity makes our enemy despair of occupying our country.
National unity enables us to overcome this painful stage with solidarity and solidarity, which helps us build our country together.
National unity: The government does not make decisions that serve the Israeli project – even if it does not want to – but the result is in Israel’s interest.
National unity requires the government to reverse its decision to criminalize resistance work and resistors.
We call for national unity for all of us. Together we become stronger, and together we shorten the time of aggression.
Look at the Israeli-American aggression against Lebanon. It kills civilians, destroys buildings, abandons villages and towns, and works to annihilate crops and livestock. It is a coward in the face of the brave resistance fighters.
This resistance cannot be defeated, along with its people, the citizens and the honorable people of our country. We are reassured and confident that we will not be defeated, no matter the sacrifices. God Almighty said, “And We wished to bestow Graciousness upon those who were oppressed in the land and to make them leaders and make them heirs.”
As for what is happening in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s confrontation with the American-Israeli global aggression, it is a lesson to consider. Iran has stood firm in the face of the earth’s tyrants, criminals, and savages, and it will prevail, God willing. And know that every victory in the face of America and Israel has good for everyone, “and victory comes only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.”
