According to a report seen by “Al Arabiya Business” from the “9to5Mac” website specializing in technology news, the “Personal Intelligence” feature for Siri, in addition to the quality of interaction within applications and awareness of the content appearing on the screen that “Apple” previously announced, was not included in the iOS 18 version.

Apple had officially announced a year ago that the release of the more customized version of Siri would be postponed to March 7, 2025. Apple then used the phrase “during the next year” to indicate that last year’s announcement would not be ready until the following year at the earliest.

On December 12, 2026, “Apple” and “Google” jointly announced their cooperation to upgrade “Siri” and “Apple Intelligence” using “Gemini” artificial intelligence from “Google.”

Reports stated that Apple was targeting iOS 26.4 to launch the first improvements supported by Gemini. Although this version was feature-rich, the new Siri features were not present.

Before the release of the first developer beta of iOS 26.4, Bloomberg reported that Apple would instead target iOS 26.5 and iOS 27.

Apple hinted that users will eventually get more features for Siri and Apple Intelligence using the new system compared to the capabilities that were originally announced.

It seems logical for Apple to try to launch the features that were originally intended for the iOS 18 update within iOS 26.5. iOS 26.5 will likely be the stable version of Apple’s software until iOS 27.0 is finalized in September.

Any features not yet announced could be delayed until the iOS 27 preview in June, and these features could take July and August before launching in September.

Optimistic timeline

There’s still room for optimism about Siri’s Personal Intelligence feature coming in March.

This optimism is based on the schedule set by Apple for the release of the first beta version of iOS 26.3, the final version of iOS 26.3, and the first beta version for developers of iOS 26.4.

Apple released the first beta version of iOS 26.3 on Wednesday, February 4, iOS 26.3 on Wednesday, February 11, and released the first beta of iOS 26.4 on Monday, February 16.

This means seven days between the beta and the official release, then five days between the official release and the next developer beta: Wednesday to Wednesday, then Wednesday to Monday.

If the same pace of releases is applied to predict the date of the first beta version of iOS 26.5, taking into account that “Apple” released the beta version of iOS 26.4 on Wednesday, March 18, then expectations indicate the following:

Apple may release iOS 26.4 to the public on Wednesday, March 25, and if things go as planned, it may release the first beta version of iOS 26.5 on Monday, March 30.

Apple just needs to include some Gemini-supported features in the first developer beta of iOS 26.5. Although achieving this in this time frame is challenging, it is not impossible.

If this happens, Apple will technically release the long-awaited Siri and Apple Intelligence features in the first quarter of 2026, even if most users receive the update in April or May.

However, this largely depends on how ready the features are for developer beta.
