The Israeli army spokesman, Avichay Adraee, commented on his account on the “X” platform, on a post by the Lebanese artist Carole Samaha, directing his words directly at her.
He wrote: “Mrs. Carol, you once sang a song that said: I do not know who sold the homeland, but I saw who paid the price. I would like to make it clear to you that the one who sold your homeland is not the Israeli, but unfortunately the one who is from it and in it, as the Lebanese proverb says: The vinegar worms are from it and in it, that is, Hezbollah, which surrendered the land of the south and made Lebanon hostage to Iranian influence. So the one ready to give up the south is Hezbollah, which signed its identity and placed it at the disposal of Iran.”
He continued: “And to the Lebanese, I tell you that it is in the interest of the Israelis that Lebanon and the Lebanese be careful about their homeland, because then Lebanon will flourish, develop, and express the spirit of its authentic people, a free and creative people, not a people ruled by chaos, weapons, and dependency.”
He added: “It is in the Israeli interest that your neighbor is well, so that you are well, Mrs. Carol. And surely there will come a day when the war ends, as the words of your song say, and peace prevails, and until then you will remain well.”
It is worth noting that the artist Carole Samaha had posted, two days ago, through her account on the “X” platform: “It is heartbreaking that there is still a group of Lebanese who are ready to give up southern Lebanon as if it were not a piece of their land, and another group is joking and conversing with an official in the Israeli enemy army, and he is already playing with our emotions and marketing himself as if he is concerned for the interest of the Lebanese.”
