Hezbollah rocket launches ignite clashes again in northern Israel

Hezbollah issued a statement today, Sunday, March 8, 2026, announcing that its members carried out an early morning attack using suicide drones, targeting the “city of Kiryat Shmona,” located in northern Israel.

The statement stated that this attack occurred at exactly 06:30 in the morning, indicating that it represents a reaction to the Israeli air strikes that targeted many Lebanese cities and villages during the past few days, including the “southern suburb of Beirut.”

The statement also confirmed that this operation comes within the context of the warning previously issued by the resistance to the “city of Kiryat Shmona,” in light of the continuing military escalation along the Lebanese-Israeli border.

This announcement comes in the midst of escalating tensions on the southern front, where mutual military operations continue between Hezbollah and the Israeli army, with frequent exchanges of bombardment with missiles, drones, and air strikes.

The conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has witnessed a noticeable escalation since the outbreak of the last round of war in the region, as Israel intensified its air strikes on various areas in Lebanon, including the south, the Bekaa, and the “southern suburb of Beirut.” On the other hand, Hezbollah announced that it had carried out a series of operations targeting Israeli military sites and concentrations of soldiers in northern Israel.
