More than a year after launching its latest product, the Chinese company Deep Sec is preparing to launch its new leading model in the field of artificial intelligence soon.
According to what the Financial Times reported, the launch of the new “Deep Sec” model represents another test of China’s ability to compete with American artificial intelligence companies such as ChatGPPT and Gemini.
The company’s original model, launched in January 2025, topped the list of mobile apps in the United States, and US President Donald Trump described it as a “wake-up call” for the technology industry.
The Financial Times also reported that the new DeepSeek V4 model will be “multi-media,” meaning capable of creating images, video, and text.
In an unusual move, reports from Reuters indicated that the Hangzhou-based company did not offer its new model to American chip manufacturers such as Nvidia, but rather shared it with local suppliers such as Huawei. This action is seen as a deviation from standard industry practices, where new models are typically shared to ensure software compatibility with hardware. Analysts believe that this step falls within the framework of a broader strategy by the Chinese government to reduce the control of American chip manufacturers. (Russia Today)
