On Sunday, the Iraqi Ministry of Oil confirmed the availability of gasoline in sufficient quantities and at reasonable prices for citizens, noting that the daily production volume reaches 30 million liters.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Oil, Abdel-Saheb Al-Hasnawi, stated that “the news circulating about the existence of a gasoline crisis in the Iraqi markets is incorrect.”
He added that the available reserve of gasoline is estimated at about 135 million liters, while the daily production rate is about 30 million liters, stressing that “gasoline is available at reasonable prices,” according to what was reported by the Iraqi News Agency, “INA.”
He also explained that “the coming days will witness stability in production,” noting that “the FCC unit in Basra has begun work, which will contribute to raising the production of high-octane gasoline to 4 million liters.”
He stressed that “these numbers represent official approved data for the current month of February,” stressing that “there is complete stability in the supply of gasoline and the absence of any crisis.”
He said, “The consumption rate increased slightly to reach 33.5 million liters per day, due to the holiday, increased vehicle movement, and the exit of citizens.”
