The Minister of Public Health, Rakan Nasser Eddine, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, inaugurated the “Innovative Breakthroughs in Dermatology and Skin Tumors (IBDA)” conference, emphasizing the great importance of holding this conference at this particular stage.
He pointed out that skin diseases, including various types of skin cancers, are witnessing rapid growth and development, in parallel with the great development witnessed by the specialty of dermatology, to become at the forefront of medical fields that rely on precision medicine and immunotherapy, in addition to applied research.
He affirmed that the “National Cancer Control Plan” adopted by the Ministry of Public Health places early diagnosis and prevention at the heart of its attention, given its importance in the effective control of cancer.
He explained that with regard to treatment, the ministry pays special attention to the optimal and organized use of cancer drugs, including chemotherapy and modern immunotherapies.
