The Municipality of Mashghara announced that the Southern Council will begin, starting next Monday, carrying out a field inspection of the damaged or demolished homes in the town, in a preliminary step to launching the work of clearing the backfill and starting the reconstruction process.

The municipality explained, in a statement, that this step came after extensive reviews it conducted with MP Qabalan Qabalan, and in coordination with the Southern Council and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, where a specialized engineering team was assigned to carry out field inspections of the damaged buildings.

She stressed that the excavation work aims to complete the necessary procedures in preparation for removing the rubble and carrying out the related works, thus accelerating the reconstruction and repair processes in the region.

The municipality called on the owners of damaged homes to prepare the necessary documents and identification papers and present them upon request, in order to facilitate the work of the specialized teams and ensure the proper organization of the field survey process.

This step comes within the framework of official efforts aimed at inventorying the damage caused by the recent war in a number of towns in the Western Bekaa and the South, in preparation for launching backfilling operations, assessing the extent of losses, and laying the executive foundations for the reconstruction phase, in coordination between the municipalities, relevant ministries, and the Council of the South.
