“Generator bills for the month of August were in many cases unprecedentedly inflated, taking advantage of the high price of diesel at the expense of the citizen.
I call on the Ministry of Economy to declare a state of economic emergency in this file, tighten oversight, and seek help from the army and security forces to arrest violators.
The Parliamentary Economy Committee is closely following this file and has begun to take some measures and will meet urgently on Wednesday, September 9, to discuss these issues with His Excellency the Minister of Economy, to reach effective solutions to protect citizens.
The electricity crisis must not be turned into a door for exploiting people. Protecting the citizen is the responsibility of the state with all its agencies.”
