However, despite the vitality of this movement, it remained behind the numbers recorded by the airport in August 2025.
Although this reality is a result of the conditions and circumstances that Lebanon has been witnessing, not only for several months, but also because of the continuing impact for years of the security, political, financial and social conditions that impose their repercussions on various aspects of life in Lebanon.
Airport traffic was distributed during August 2026 as follows:
Travelers:
The total number of passengers who used the airport during the eighth month of this year reached 835,576 passengers (compared to 929,815 passengers in August of last year, i.e. a decrease of 10 percent), as the number of arrivals to Lebanon recorded 369,972 passengers (a decrease of about 7 percent), and the number of departures recorded 465,586 passengers (a decrease of 12.5 percent), and the number of departures also decreased. Transit passengers increased by 25 percent and reached 18 passengers.
Flights:
The total number of flights by national and foreign commercial airlines that used the airport during last August amounted to 6,036 flights (a 9 percent decrease), including 3,017 flights arriving to Lebanon and 3,019 flights departing from Lebanon.
Airport traffic began to increase since last July, when the total number of passengers reached 722,043 passengers, followed by August, which achieved an additional increase and this number reached 835,576 passengers.
By the end of the eighth month of the year 2026, the general total of passengers who have used Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut since the beginning of the year will be 3 million, 571 thousand and 338 passengers, compared to 4 million, 802 thousand and 38 passengers in the same period of the year 2025 (i.e. a decrease of 25.6 percent).
