Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raji received the new French Ambassador to Lebanon, Patrick Durel, on a protocol visit to the Ministry’s headquarters, during which he received a copy of his credentials in preparation for completing the official procedures related to the start of his diplomatic duties.
During the meeting, the reality of bilateral relations between Lebanon and France and ways to develop them in a number of fields, especially political, economic and cultural, were discussed, in addition to focusing on the path of existing cooperation between the two countries and the French role in supporting Lebanon through various stages and stations.
Raji stressed Lebanon’s keenness to strengthen the bonds of friendship and historical relations that unite it with France, wishing Ambassador Dorrell success in performing his new duties and working to push bilateral relations towards greater cooperation and coordination.
Within the same diplomatic meetings, Raji received the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Wasa Segin-Ege, and received from him a copy of his credentials to Lebanon.
The reception of the two new ambassadors comes in the context of the diplomatic activity witnessed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with a number of ambassadors assuming their duties in Beirut, and the meetings aimed at strengthening Lebanon’s relations with friendly countries and expanding areas of bilateral cooperation.
