Google announced a strategic step in the American application market, where, starting from July 22, 2026, it will allow competing foreign stores to access its application catalog and distribute it to users within the United States.

This change comes in implementation of judicial rulings to confront charges of monopoly, and includes the following:

– Content availability: Eligible stores will be able to access Google Play apps and games.
– Developer control: Developers have the right to allow or prevent the listing of their applications in these stores via the “Play Console” platform.
– Joining requirements: Third-party stores must meet strict security standards and pay an annual subscription fee.
– Continuity of security: The “Play Protect” security system will remain in effect, and Google service fees will remain for applications downloaded in this way.

This step is a fundamental shift aimed at enhancing competition and providing greater choices for users in the United States.
