Baabda sources announced that “today, the progress achieved yesterday in the negotiations has been further confirmed, and the discussion has become practical and detailed on the implementation mechanism proposed to launch the practical version of the framework.”
The sources told MTV: “The research today is focused on the two model areas as a start for the work, and they are mixed, that is, one area has occupation from which the Israelis withdraw, and another area has occupation on its borders and in which the army’s strength will be strengthened,” pointing out that “the second issue is the start date for implementing the two model areas, and all preparations are being made for the start to take place within days or hours, and a statement is supposed to be issued specifying the date, and we hope that it does not exceed the end of this week.”
The sources said: “There will be research into what is called the framework, meaning the sequence of the remaining areas other than the two model areas and determining a time frame for the other areas,” noting that “the scope of the research deals with techniques, i.e. withdrawal and entry, which may require holding another military meeting before implementation, and it will most likely be in Rome.”
The sources revealed that “it is likely that a statement will be issued by the American side specifying what will be agreed upon along with the time and place of the next meeting.”
Regarding communication with “Hezbollah” for the application, the sources told MTV: “We are adopting a joint framework of action, which is clear and stipulates the return of civilians from the established villages.”
She added: “With regard to verification, it is referred to a third party, and there is no problem with several forms. We are open to the American vision and we have a natural inclination for the verification to be carried out by entities from the United Nations, such as UNIFIL and UNSO. A number of proposals were discussed without a final formulation yet, because any formula for any verification body needs a legal framework.”
The sources confirmed that “he did not request an inspection of private property, but rather it is proposed within the verification mechanism that Lebanese laws be respected, and there is no problem under this ceiling.”
She pointed out that “until now, no idea has been crystallized about the working committees, and the first idea is that the first committees be formed related to the complete Israeli withdrawal and post-withdrawal arrangements, but now the discussion is focused on the two model areas.”
Baabda sources reported, “Any meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu is completely rejected,” adding: “Aoun’s visit to Washington will include a meeting with Trump and perhaps a number of officials, and the visit will be very quick.”
