President Saad Hariri sent a cable to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, offering his condolences on the death of the father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Hariri said in his telegram that he received “with great sorrow and sadness” the news of the death of the Father Emir, stressing that the Lebanese remember on this painful occasion his “white hands” on Lebanon and its people.
He addressed the Emir of Qatar, the Emir family, and the Qatari people, with his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy, asking God to cover the deceased with His vast mercy, to make him dwell in His spacious paradise, and not to show them any harm.
Hariri also prayed to God to extend the life of the Emir of Qatar, and to guide his steps for the good and pride of the State of Qatar.
To the same end, Hariri also telegraphed to the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani, condoling the death of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
