In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in the strongest terms the bombing that occurred yesterday in the city of Damascus, which claimed the lives of a number of civilians and injured others.
The Ministry extended its condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, and affirmed Lebanon’s full solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic and its people in confronting these attacks.
It considered that the bombing represented a new attempt to strike security and stability in Syria, at a critical stage in its recovery and revival after long years of suffering.
The Ministry considered that the occurrence of the bombing in the vicinity of the Palace of Justice carries a dangerous significance, as it suggests the intentional targeting of a symbol of justice and the rule of law.
