In an Israeli position that raises the ceiling after the framework agreement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu linked the next stage to the issue of disarming Hezbollah, stressing that Israel will adhere to the security framework in Lebanon and freedom of military action within it.

Netanyahu said that Israel signed a “framework” with Lebanon aimed at reaching future agreements, considering that the tripartite framework with Lebanon represents “a major achievement for Israel.”

Al-Hadath quoted Netanyahu as saying that the tripartite framework of action with Lebanon “ends Iran’s attempts to impose a complete withdrawal from southern Lebanon,” stressing that the “framework of action” with Lebanon prevents Iran and Hezbollah from any role in Lebanon.

Netanyahu added that Israel will maintain the “security strip” in Lebanon until Hezbollah disarms, stressing that it will also maintain freedom of military action within this strip.

He pointed out that Israel agreed with Lebanon on a “pilot project to disarm Hezbollah,” explaining that the project will be implemented in two areas close to the Yellow Line and outside the Yellow Line, and will also be implemented in the south and north of the Litani River.

Netanyahu’s statements come after the announcement that Lebanon, Israel, and the United States had signed a tripartite framework agreement, in a step that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described as “the beginning of the beginning,” stressing that there is still a long road ahead for Lebanon and Israel.
