Apple is developing the second generation of the iPhone Air in preparation for its launch during the spring of 2027, as part of its continuing efforts to enhance the appeal of the ultra-thin phone category that it has added to the iPhone lineup in recent years.

The new phone bears the code name V62, and has reached advanced stages of internal testing within the company, which indicates the progress of the development process and its approaching the final stages.

The sources expected that the device would maintain the general design of the current generation, and that it would witness an important addition in photography capabilities, as Apple is working to provide it with a second rear camera dedicated to ultra-wide photography, after the first version of the phone relied on only one rear camera.

The company continues to work on improving battery life, which represents one of the main challenges in ultra-thin phones.

It is not yet clear whether Apple will resort to increasing the battery capacity itself or will rely on improvements in energy efficiency at the level of the processor, internal components, and software.
