The Israeli army announced that, during the past twenty-four hours, it continued to carry out raids on targets it said were Hezbollah’s in the Tire region and other areas of southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army said in a statement that its forces attacked Hezbollah infrastructure and “eliminated militants” during operations carried out in southern Lebanon.
He added that one of the raids targeted a weapons and ammunition warehouse belonging to the party, noting that secondary explosions were detected after the targeting, which he considered evidence of the presence of combat means inside the targeted site.
This announcement comes at a time when southern Lebanon witnessed a widespread military escalation, including dozens of Israeli raids that targeted several towns in the western and central sectors, in addition to areas in the Western Bekaa.
For months, Israel has continued to carry out almost daily air strikes on southern and Bekaa regions, which it says target military sites, structures, and weapons depots belonging to Hezbollah, while the party, for its part, announces that it is carrying out operations against Israeli forces and their military movements along the southern front.
The Tire region and its surrounding villages are of special field importance due to their location within the scope of escalating military activity, as they have been subjected during the recent period to a series of repeated raids and attacks that have affected buildings, facilities, valleys and the outskirts of several towns.
This escalation coincides with the continuation of diplomatic efforts aimed at establishing a ceasefire and containing tension on the southern border, in light of the continuation of mutual military operations and field violations that complicate the path of calm and increase the fragility of the security situation in the region.
