US President Donald Trump launched a sharp attack on the major American media and the Democratic Party, accusing them of “bias and insanity,” in a blog post he published on Monday evening on his “Truth Social” platform.

Trump said that the American media would consider Iran “victorious” even if it announced its complete surrender to the United States.

In his post, Trump drew a hypothetical scenario of a comprehensive Iranian surrender, saying that even if the Iranian Navy was completely sunk, the Iranian Air Force was eliminated, the army left Tehran raising white flags, and the Iranian leadership signed the “surrender documents,” the “corrupt” American media would continue to talk about an “Iranian victory.”

Trump directly attacked the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and CNN, considering that they had “lost their credibility” and continued to spread “fake news,” as he put it.

He also expanded his attack to include the Democratic Party, using the expression “Dumacrats” in a sarcastic reference that combines the words “Democrats” and “stupidity,” saying that “the Democrats and the media have completely lost their way.”

This verbal escalation comes days after a similar attack launched by Trump on May 13, in which he accused American media of presenting a “misleading picture” of Iranian military capabilities during the recent tensions between Washington and Tehran.

He said at the time that reports of good Iranian military performance against the United States represented a “virtual betrayal,” considering that they gave Tehran “false hope.”

Trump also claimed that the Iranian Navy was “completely destroyed,” and that all of its ships “lie at the bottom of the sea,” in addition to the collapse of the Iranian Air Force, without providing evidence for these statements, while there was no immediate comment from the Iranian authorities or the US Department of Defense.
