In a remarkable political stance, the Deputy Chairman of Hezbollah’s Political Council, Mahmoud Qamati, affirmed that the resistance “will not stop until the liberation of all Lebanese lands,” stressing the steadfastness of the party’s position in the face of field and political developments.
In statements he made on Al Jazeera Live, Qamati stressed that any negotiating path remains conditional on a “complete ceasefire,” considering that this constitutes the basic entry point for any indirect negotiations with Israel.
He pointed out that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri adheres to his refusal to negotiate directly with Israel, stressing that “this position cannot be overcome” in any future political approach.
He also pointed out that “patience with Israeli attacks has limits,” considering that this is not related to the ongoing war with Iran, but rather comes in the context of the ongoing confrontation on the Lebanese front.
This position comes in light of the escalation of tensions on the southern border, and the intensification of political and diplomatic contacts to contain the escalation and open a possible negotiating path.
It also reflects Hezbollah’s adherence to its conditions in any future settlement, at a time when field pressures intersect with political movements, amid a very complex regional stage.
