Trump announces the imposition of tough sanctions on Iran amid expectations of a deal soon

US President Donald Trump announced the entry into force of the blockade on Iran, stressing that the United States will not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons.

He explained that Iran has not shown a willingness to abandon its nuclear program, and insisted that Washington “will recover Iranian enriched uranium one way or another.”

He also added that Iran has contacted the United States and expresses a “strong” desire to reach an agreement, noting that some points have already been agreed upon, but Tehran must still agree to the rest of the conditions.

The American President stressed that his country does not need the help of any other country in implementing the blockade, although many countries have expressed their willingness to contribute, stressing at the same time that he had received contact “from the right people” regarding Iran.

He pointed out that Iran “is not currently doing any commercial work,” considering that he has achieved an achievement that previous American presidents did not achieve in confronting Tehran, as he said: “I am the one who stood up to Iran, unlike others.”

In a context related to navigation, he explained that 34 ships crossed the Strait of Hormuz yesterday, which is the “highest number” since its closure, pointing out that many tankers and ships are heading to load oil.

He stressed that China is looking forward to seeing an end to the crisis with Iran, adding that the next stage may witness a shift in focus to other issues, saying: “Cuba after Iran.”
