"Google" and"Samsung" They cooperate to launch an advanced protection system against phone theft

Google announced major developments in anti-theft protection methods for Samsung Galaxy phones that run the One UI 8 user interface based on the Android 16 system. This step aims to strengthen personal security and make theft and hacking operations more difficult for attackers.

These new updates include a “Failed Authentication Lock” feature, which automatically locks the screen after a certain number of incorrect passcode attempts.

The “Identity Verification” feature has also been improved to require biometric authentication when performing important operations outside approved locations, and it is a feature now available for all applications and services that rely on fingerprint or facial recognition.

In a similar context, Google has increased the time period for blocking attempts after entering a wrong password or pattern several times in a row, taking into account cases in which the user is a child, as his repeated attempts will not be considered within the number of failed attempts.

The new update also enhanced the “remote lock” feature. If the device is lost, the user can lock it to ensure that data is not accessed, with an optional “security challenge” added during the process to confirm the identity of the real user, a feature supported on devices running “Android 10” and later.

Reports indicate that Samsung and Google are working to integrate these tools automatically into the user interface, as the new devices will come with “theft detection” and “remote lock” features activated by default upon purchase, which reflects a technical trend towards providing the highest levels of security to users from the beginning of their use of the phone.
