Arrest of Suspects and Seizure of Weapons Smuggled from Syria to Lebanon

The Israeli army reported carrying out a joint night operation between the 810th Mountains Brigade and Unit 504, which resulted in the arrest of a number of suspects in an attempt to smuggle weapons from Syrian territory to Lebanese territory in the Mount Hermon area.

A statement issued by the Israeli army stated that the forces managed to seize hand grenades, pistols, anti-tank missiles, and various ammunition. The detainees were transferred for investigation and the seized weapons were confiscated.

The statement confirmed the continued field deployment of forces in the area with the aim of protecting the residents of the Golan and ensuring security.

The announcement of the operation came via an account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter), indicating that this operation comes within the framework of efforts to prevent attempts to smuggle weapons across the northern borders.
