
The Department of Media and Public Relations at the General Directorate of Civil Defense announced in a statement, “Elements of the Marine Rescue Unit in the Directorate carried out, in cooperation with Total, a field maneuver at sea to simulate confronting oil pollution, with the aim of enhancing preparedness and raising the level of coordination and practical capabilities in dealing with marine environmental incidents.”
She pointed out that “the maneuver included the use of specialized equipment to contain and treat oil spills, and joint exercises to ensure rapid response and effectiveness of intervention.” (National Agency)
