Two children suffered head and foot injuries when they were passing through the Al-Iman Street neighborhood in the city of Tripoli, as a result of stones falling from the balcony of a cracked house in one of the buildings in the area, according to a “Lebanon 24” representative.

The two children were treated and transported by civilian vehicles to a medical center to receive treatment. The incident aroused dissatisfaction with the residents, who appealed to the municipality of Tripoli and the concerned authorities to move quickly to conduct a field inspection of the damaged buildings and work to restore them or remove the danger from them in order to reduce the recurrence of these incidents.

Residents pointed out that last year the area witnessed a similar incident, when a child was seriously injured in the head as a result of a large stone falling on him while he was passing through Saadoun Square in Abu Samra, which required several surgeries at his own expense.

The people called for strict preventive measures to be taken to preserve the safety of citizens, especially children, in light of the repeated incidents of stones falling from old and crumbling buildings in the city.
