The former Iranian political activist and parliamentary candidate, Nemat Elhami, died suddenly after suffering a heart attack while delivering a speech to a crowd of citizens in the city of Belle Suar.
According to what was reported by the “Iran International” website, Elhami was giving a speech during a night gathering held in a sold-out square, before he suddenly fell in front of the attendees and died.
Video clips circulated on social media platforms showed the moment Elhami fell while giving the speech, among a gathering of Iranians.
Elhami had run for the 12th round of the Iranian parliamentary elections for the Pars Abad, Belleh Siwar, and Aslandouz constituencies. He was also known for his political activity and previous connections to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
Iranian media reported that the death resulted from a sudden cardiac arrest, while no official comment has been issued yet clarifying the circumstances of the incident or its medical details.
