The Israeli army published scenes documenting the moment of the injury of reserve sergeant “Sh,” a field documenter in the army spokesman’s unit, following the explosion of two booby-trapped drones during a military operation in the town of Hadatha in southern Lebanon, on May 20, 2026.
According to a report by journalist Avi Ashkenazi in the Maariv newspaper, the soldier was accompanying members of the 601st Battalion of the Combat Engineering Corps when the explosion occurred, which led to her being seriously injured and the injury of 7 other soldiers, including the company commander.
The report indicated that “Sh”’s life was saved thanks to the quick intervention of the soldiers and the battalion’s medic, after she was hit in the main artery in her leg and suffered a serious injury to the jaw.
Speaking about the moment she ended her military service, she said: “I recently had the opportunity to think a lot about my entire service, all the units I joined, the events I documented, the places I visited, and the people I met on the way. Who would have thought that the end of my service would look like this? Two years and 8 months ended with an explosion.”
She added: “It is a strange way to end the service, but it was good, meaningful and full of experiences, and I do not regret any moment.”
The Israeli army also published her digital diary, including scenes she captured during the fighting in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, while accompanying the invading forces and documenting complex military operations, before she turned from documenting the confrontations to one of their wounded.
