He also recalled that during his visit last September to the site, he wished the municipality to prepare a project to take advantage of the dam for environmental activities, on the condition of preserving the safety of the water from which the people and residents of Keserwan drink, and public and environmental safety.
Al-Saddi regretted that the “Free Patriotic Movement” launched a “programmed misleading campaign to distort this event” a few days ago, culminating in a statement by Representative Nada Al-Bustani, adding: “I am not willing to enter into debates with anyone, but I am keen not to mislead citizens, especially since today’s idea is not new and the work is cumulative, but previously they had taken a good idea and as usual their implementation was ineffective.”
Therefore, I would like to point out, “Today’s activity is environmentally related to hiking, not to jet skiing or water skiing by boat, which used to pollute the water and cause an imbalance in the environmental balance.”
He added: “My decision to stop their activity in the dam came on a scientific and legal basis, contrary to what they claim. I relied on the report of the Ministry’s Research and Technical Facilities Department and on a French scientific study on the risks in the Chabrouh Dam issued on August 6, 2025. I am not prepared to risk the health of the Keserwanians and to give, like some former ministers, permissions to use the facilities and the dam, contrary to the technical reports issued by the administration, which confirmed that the activities of the Keserwan Association lead to pollution of the lake’s water and damage.” In facilities.”
