The Minister of Economy and Trade, Amer Al-Bassat, chaired a meeting that included the commercial attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Beirut, along with representatives of the relevant ministries, the Customs Administration, and the Port of Beirut, during which ways of facilitating the export movement from Lebanon to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were discussed, especially with regard to registration procedures, in a way that contributes to enhancing the flow of Lebanese exports to the Saudi market.

Al-Bassat also received a delegation from the Civil Society Activities Authority in Beirut, where the meeting discussed a number of projects of public interest, in addition to discussing development initiatives that would enhance cooperation and serve the capital, Beirut.

The delegation explained, in a statement distributed later, that “the authority works within a consultative framework by preparing studies and proposals through specialists in various fields and developing proposals for practical solutions that contribute to supporting municipal work and promoting development, in a way that serves the public interest and contributes to the development of performance and services.”

The delegation also discussed with Minister Al-Bassat “the challenges facing citizens, especially those related to high prices, and discussed with him a number of proposals and solutions to alleviate people’s suffering and improve the living reality.”

For his part, Minister Al-Bassat welcomed the delegation, praising “the role played by the Authority,” stressing his keenness to “cooperate with it and support its tasks in all possible ways, in a way that achieves the public interest and serves citizens.”

In another meeting with the Lebanese-German Business Council, Al-Bassat stressed the importance of developing relations between Lebanon and Germany, enhancing economic and investment cooperation, and expanding partnerships between the public and private sectors, which contributes to supporting economic growth and stimulating investment opportunities.
