Hart added to the BBC, “The fact that no Paraguayan player received a yellow card throughout the ninety minutes of normal time is absolutely astonishing.”
As for former Germany national team player Thomas Hitzlsberger, he said: “I no longer have any respect for the Paraguay national team, given their behavior during the penalty kick incident. If you are a French fan or a neutral, you can no longer have any respect for their behavior.”
It is worth noting that France defeated Paraguay with a single goal from a penalty kick, scored by Kylian Mbappé.
Likewise, former Sweden national team player Zlatan Ibrahimovic said: “If I had played that match, I would have been sent off with four or five red cards and sent someone to the hospital.”
