The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed Lebanon’s solidarity with Venezuela and its people, in the wake of the major earthquake that struck the country, offering sincere condolences to the families of the victims who fell as a result of this disaster, and wishing a speedy recovery to all the wounded.

The Ministry announced that it followed, through the Lebanese Embassy in Caracas, the conditions of the members of the Lebanese community in Venezuela, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raji, issued instructions to the Embassy to provide all forms of support and assistance to the Lebanese, and to communicate directly with them to ensure their conditions and meet their needs.

Raji was informed that the Lebanese residing in Venezuela are all fine, and that no human casualties were recorded among them, but the Lebanese embassy building in Caracas suffered some material damage as a result of the earthquakes.

The Ministry confirmed that it is closely following developments in the field situation, and is continuing its contacts with the Lebanese community until the safety of all its members is fully confirmed.
