The Canadian Basketball Association announced the list of players participating in the training camp for the women’s national team, which will be held in Montreal during the period from June 20 to 28, in preparation for the preliminary qualifying tournament for the 2028 Olympics, scheduled in the Mexican city of Guadalajara next August.
This camp is the first official gathering of the Canadian women’s national team on the field as part of the preparations for the path leading to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, as it includes a mix of players with international experience and emerging talents.
After the Montreal camp, the team is scheduled to move to Victoria, British Columbia, for a second camp, which will include a friendly match against the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), champion of the American University League, on July 22.
The Canadian team will subsequently participate in the 2026 Women’s Olympic Preliminary Tournament, hosted by Mexico between August 17 and 23, where the champion qualifies directly to the final Olympic qualifiers scheduled for March 2028.
The Canadian national team currently ranks seventh in the world in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) classification for women.
