Minister of Energy and Water, Joe Al-Saddi, received a delegation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which is a member of the World Bank Group, which included: Director Khawaja Aftab, Director of the Beirut Office, Enrique Armas, Regional Director for Consulting on Public-Private Partnerships and Project Finance, Michael Obagi, and Investment Officer, Mazen Al-Saad.
The meeting was devoted to discussing developments and progress regarding the establishment of the FSRU gasification station and importing gas to operate the Deir Ammar power generation plant and encouraging investors to establish a second modern gas plant in Deir Ammar.
Al-Saddi also met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Arab Republic in Lebanon, Iyad Al-Hazzaa, and the discussion discussed the existing cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of energy and gas extraction.
